Whole Fools

I never found Whole Foods easy to get in and out of and so I haven't been in one since 2002 or so. When I found how John Mackey felt about health care reform, I was not surprised.

I can't boycott a place I was already boycotting for other reasons. I never found the Whole Foods story cool. I had friends who worked there before it went corporate and they were never happy campers. I never had a good impression of Mackey and I simply never liked how the stores felt. I was a never a Whole Foods Austinite. I used to feel guilty about that especially when it came to shopping local. Then it became a chain.

I prefer Sun Harvest once again. I thought is sucked when it was bought by Whole Foods and stopped shopping there. In 2007 it was quickly sold to Smart&Final who returned it to the Sun Harvest I discovered in the late 80's. I came upon that piece of info late last year when I entered Sun Harvest with a friend loathing it but left happy to hear from the store manager that Whole Foods no longer owned it. Had I not asked I'd still be avoiding the place thinking WF still owned it. We have been happy using Greenling, Wheatsville and are trying harder to make it to the farmer's market. No need for Whole Foods.

Mackey quotes Margaret Thatcher...Blehk, what a moron. I bet he used this website too.
